I just added a metro area for Jacksonville and scheduled an event on Upcoming.org. The site is a pretty cool combination of Friendster (which did prove to be kind of pointless, but a fun way to pass the time) and a group calendar. Or, as they put it:

Upcoming.org is a collaborative event calendar, completely driven by people like you. Enter in the events you're attending, comment on events entered by others, and syndicate event listings to your own weblog.

As Upcoming.org learns more about the events you enjoy, it will suggest new events you never would have heard about.

I'm going to put in the schedule I have for all the midnight cult movie screenings at the San Marco theater as time allows. It would be cool if more people in Jax used this, since it's one way to fight the whole "there's nothing to do in this town" thing.
