Verisign is engaged in more dirty tricks. They have set all invalid .com and .net domains to resolve to their site instead of giving users the normal 'not found' error message. This will cause a myriad of problems (including making troubleshooting and spam prevention more difficult) as described in the Slashdot thread linked above.
If you have a domain registered through Verisign/Network Solutions, please consider showing your dissatisfaction by moving that registration to another registrar. There are a huge number of companies out there that not only engage in better business practices than Verisign, but also have lower prices on domain registrations. Let's stop giving money to a company that regularly abuses its power over the Internet.
Posted by Xkot at September 15, 2003 10:13 PM | Speak It | TrackbackI got an 'expiration notice' from Domain Registry of America today in the mail. I suggest you put them on the shits list, because my name is registered elsewhere. They are just trying another slam. Jerks.
