Don't forget the giant bugs

Nerdwoman perfectly sums up what it's like to live in Florida:

It's so hot that stuff bursts into flames every summer. That's ok though because shortly after bursting into flames the biggest scariest lightning and thunderstorm you have ever seen will come along and hopefully put it out.

It's nerdwoman's stories about the bugs that scare me the most.

And then after a person gets cooked and then soaked the alligators can come and feast on the carcass.

i dont have too many bug problems but the heat does suck...

I agree, don't like the cold weather, but this is the only place where I've sweated while taking a shower in the summer...

I don't want to live in Florida for completely different reasons involving an incontienent elephant and a weekend spent taking the ashes of a complete stranger to a wake in Miami because they'd been accidentally given to my uncle with his luggage, but there are plenty of places as hot and as muggy. Louisiana comes to mind. Texas gulf coast. So the weather isn't as much of a concern to me.

But damn, there's nothing like being on the back of an elephant that just won't stop shitting to turn you off of a state permanently.
