I saw an early showing of MIB2 this morning. On the way back, I was thinking about how I was going to describe it here. The best I can say is... did you see the first one? Do you want to see it again? Because this one is more or less an exact copy of the first movie. Sure things are a little different this time around, but it's the closest I've ever seen a sequel come to replicating the original. If you really loved the first one and want more of it, you'll be happy. If you were looking for a new twist, or for this one to go where the first movie didn't, you'll probably be let down. Overall I think it was worth the $3.75 we paid. Those early morning shows are a deal :)
Posted by Xkot at July 03, 2002 01:35 PM | Speak It | Trackbackthat's unfortunate. i liked the first one but i thought it was too short. maybe they should've just combined the two stories into one 2-2 1/2 hour movie

i think the commercials and trailers were longer than the movie
Is it worth $10, or should I get myself some Mojo Jojo instead?
Posted by: secret asIAN man on July 3, 2002 04:13 PM - linkdid it replicate the original better than escape from l.a. did with its predecessor?

Posted by: paisley on July 3, 2002 05:18 PM - linkgood to know. i was going to go to the evening showing, but i don't think 'more of the same' is worth full price -- however i'll happily pay matinee prices to see more of MIB.

Posted by: Netsloth on July 3, 2002 10:43 PM - linkI think I've given some people the impression that I thought it sucked or something, which wasn't the case. It was fine. I laughed and enjoyed myself. It just didn't give me anything new. All the good elements of this one were in the original. The talking dog was funny. It was also funny in the first one. The worm guys were kind of funny. Ditto. Agents J and K had some quips at each other that were funny, just like the first one. They fought some big wormy monsters instead of big insecty monsters. I'll give them that.
I just think that they stuck too much to a proven formula and didn't try to surprise us, or make us look at things in a different way, or show us a different side of any of the characters. They played it safe.
