Men in Black II

I saw an early showing of MIB2 this morning. On the way back, I was thinking about how I was going to describe it here. The best I can say is... did you see the first one? Do you want to see it again? Because this one is more or less an exact copy of the first movie. Sure things are a little different this time around, but it's the closest I've ever seen a sequel come to replicating the original. If you really loved the first one and want more of it, you'll be happy. If you were looking for a new twist, or for this one to go where the first movie didn't, you'll probably be let down. Overall I think it was worth the $3.75 we paid. Those early morning shows are a deal :)

that's unfortunate. i liked the first one but i thought it was too short. maybe they should've just combined the two stories into one 2-2 1/2 hour movie

Heh.. yeah, you know this one, at about 80 minutes, really did feel like the second half.

i think the commercials and trailers were longer than the movie

Is it worth $10, or should I get myself some Mojo Jojo instead?

good to know. i was going to go to the evening showing, but i don't think 'more of the same' is worth full price -- however i'll happily pay matinee prices to see more of MIB.

I agree with some of the criticism, but overall, I thought it was a fun, fast-paced romp. It's definately worth seeing in the theatre.

I think I've given some people the impression that I thought it sucked or something, which wasn't the case. It was fine. I laughed and enjoyed myself. It just didn't give me anything new. All the good elements of this one were in the original. The talking dog was funny. It was also funny in the first one. The worm guys were kind of funny. Ditto. Agents J and K had some quips at each other that were funny, just like the first one. They fought some big wormy monsters instead of big insecty monsters. I'll give them that.

I just think that they stuck too much to a proven formula and didn't try to surprise us, or make us look at things in a different way, or show us a different side of any of the characters. They played it safe.

They're just trying to lull you so that when they have J and K reveal their love in MIBIII nobody will see it coming.
