I'm sure this is much to the surprise of some people who would bash him - Rush Limbaugh blasted Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell over their horrible comments.
For the most part this terrible event has brought out the best in Americans... But there are some, unfortunately, in which this disaster has brought out the worst. Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson and the Reverend Jerry Falwell are two such individuals....All I can say is I was profoundly embarrassed and disappointed by their comments. They can try to take them back all they want, but the bottom line is that their words are indefensible.
It's nice to hear someone from the conservative side of the political world speak out against hatred.

But seriously, I'm glad to see that this has happened, especially after watching the news briefly and seeing how many "americans" are going out and attacking other Americans. It's sickening to see this sort of violence going on, and so openly.

Posted by: Xkot on September 19, 2001 09:15 AM - linkI just received a forwarded e-mail from a civil liberties group discussing Rush's message, and suggesting that people contact him and say thank you: "I suspect it might be the first time Limbaugh heard nice comments from gay people, and other perceived-liberals, and it just might open his mind on other issues as well."
I don't know how successful that will be, but given that Satan's wearing woolens, I'll keep an open mind.
