October is National Psoriasis Awareness Month. Psoriasis is a condition that affects about one out of every 50 people, yet there is still a great deal of ignorance about it. People with this condition often suffer as much from public fear and mistreatment as they do from the physical symptoms.

Important facts: It is not contagious - you can't catch it. It can vary in severity from minor annoyance to crippling. There is no cure, but there are many potential treatments.
