I'm watching this Michael Jackson Halloween thing on MTV. It is amazingly bad. I know, I know, that's obvious. But this is worse than you think. This is Plan 9 from Outer Space bad. It's so bad that I can't look away.
So far, all I can figure out is that MJ has some beef with a middle aged man (himself in makeup) and a group of schoolkids, so he called up his friends from Thriller to dance in front of them. He's yelled "Ho!!!!!" about 14 times since I've been watching, and at one point his zombie friends danced on the ceiling, Lionel Richie-style.
Ok, we're up to 17 "Ho!!!!"s now, but I may have lost count. Since I started writing this he has turned into a skeleton and I still have no idea what's going on. The kids keep switching between looking happy and looking terrified for no reason.
Oh damn, he just turned into some kind of goblin, and the makeup looks like a cruel self-parody of his own decaying nose.
Back from a commercial, MJ jumped into the body of the old guy. Now we are being treated to the weak humor of a fat old white man dancing like MJ. Because no old white man could possibly be a good dancer, right?
A hand popped out of the guy's chest and held a mirror up to his face, and he screamed in horror when he saw himself. Then his face morphed into an MJ-style plastic surgery nightmare, and he started saying "Who's a freak now? Who's scary now?"
I have to wonder about the sort of psychological landscape that gave birth to this shit.
Ok, now Jackson is himself again and he's smashing his arms and head on the floor. He's crumbling into a powdery blob. The kids are crying because Jackson is blowing away as dust, and we cut to a commercial.
Back from the commercial. Michael is back and the old man ran away, scared of a big Jackson head that popped out when he opened a door. The show ends with a little kid saying "Is this scary?" and acting like he's going to rip his face off - a ripoff of the Twilight Zone movie.
So, after suffering through this, I did a little research. It's called Michael Jackson - Ghosts and it's a couple years old. If you're really masochistic, I found a 3.2 meg AVI with scenes from the movie.
It's scheduled to repeat on MTV and VH1 several times in the next week or so. My advice is to unplug your television.
Posted by Xkot at October 24, 2001 10:11 PM | Speak ItI would have to agree with Xkot on this one, since he made me turn on MTV to watch it. That was the biggest heaping pile of dung I have seen in a long time. Yesh.
Posted by: Shadoe on October 24, 2001 10:44 PM - linkthere was a rumor i heard a few months ago that mj's nose had actually collapsed, caved in, because there was nothing left holding it up.
i'm beside myself when i think about the lack of intervention.
anyway, thanks for the entertaining play by play. now i don't actually *have* to watch it. (but i probably will anyway...)
Posted by: miss b on October 25, 2001 12:17 AM - linkMiss B, it's funny you mention that. I kept wondering if maybe what I thought were special effects were actually his real face, and what we see as his normal face is a special effect to hide his real one.
Posted by: Xkot on October 25, 2001 09:27 AM - linkAll the comments are right by now and I agree with everything else. However this video has something good: "The MJ Dance".
Posted by: Mago on May 10, 2002 10:57 AM - linkok.....whatever happens .... michael is the king of pop ..... the king of all the music ..... tell me one singer have a movie like ghosts .
Posted by: amigozork on May 27, 2002 02:08 PM - linkYou know something after reading your views on MJ's Ghost I realise the only idiot round here is me for actually reading through your heap of garbage!! I mean iv got a feeling your one of these so called "rockers" who wears make up and crappy Slipknot hooded tops and you got a real problem with everyone else cos your parents mistreated you as a child and you were bullied at school!! MJ is one of the true greats in music, he is a pioneer in music videos and ghosts was perhaps the greatest music/ film collaborations ever!! The special effects were amazing which you didn't mention and music was brill !!
So dip shit get a clue, take a look around at what else is out there and recognise that what you saw was something that you probably wont again.
PS
seeing as your a moron and didn't get the plot I'll let you know that the film idea was based on MJ's lifestyle the way he is victimised by dicks like you and the way he feels he is portrayed by the media!!
well pardon me, but i dont see you getting up and making something as good as what michael jackson can do. He is by far the most talented artist ever to hit the planet and this film clip just goes to show how creative and talented this man really is. yes michael is a little hard to look at at times but lets face it, he has had it tough- from his brutal childhood to the endless media scandles, i've grown up my whole life with this man's brilliant music, it's pulled me through some of the most painful times of my life and if i ever get the chance to meet him, i would'nt stick a camera in his face, i would thank him for shaping my life into the what it is today. so i'am with stu, amigozork when i say ''you are an idiot

Posted by: justin timberlake on December 27, 2002 04:54 AM - linkHey, I am sure that criticising Michael Jackson gives you some kind of retarded buzz or something. It's a shame you have nothing better to do than laugh at him. I feel sorry for you. I mean, imagine the key event of your day was logging onto the Internet to tell your only friends how pathetic you think Michael Jackson is! I don't think I would be able to cope.
Posted by: Matt on February 22, 2003 12:19 AM - linkI agree with the last few comments. Sure, Michael Jacksons a bit weird, and he's certainly not exactly what people my age listen to. I'm 15 and I live in australia. I didn't exactly grow up with him. But I still reckon his music is some of the best stuff I've ever heard. Its highly original, well composed, and always portrays the intention clearly. Ghosts was one of the best videoclips I've ever seen, no, I'll say it was THE best.
Posted by: Blog on February 24, 2003 06:16 PM - linkDamn, its been a while since anyone posted anything here...
Anyway, Michael Jackson still is cool to me even though his music isn't as effective as it used to be.. I'm a musician (I play drums and keyboard) and trust me, it takes a HELL of a lot of skill to pull off the shit he can do... But I can finally just about match up to his dance moves.. and singing..note I said: "JUST ABOUT"
So the asswipe that dissed him Mj can eat shit and kill himself, coz you have serious issues. Lets see YOU match up to his skill!
Anyway, check the 'link' I added for some more interesting shit. "Let it Load"!
Posted by: Phat Bass on August 7, 2003 04:11 AM - linkYou, Mr "I think that I can sing and dance better than the greatest entertainer of all time", are a complete idiot. Sure MJ has gone over the top with his face, but I'd like to see you do everthing that he can do and what he has done for his fans and...well...the world. I'm just a 12-year-old kid and I dance to MJ just about every day. I've performed his material in front of people and they think it's great. I can do the "Moonwalk" and alot of other stuff that you couldn't do if your life depended on it. So I close by saying; shut your cake hole you bastard.
Posted by: on October 11, 2003 11:12 PM - linkYou are a complete loser. I am 1 of MJ's biggest fans, and he has helped millions of starving children around the world. I'd like to see YOU do all the dance moves he does. I'm only 10, and I've
performed on-stage dancing to MJ music. So, I close by saying: Suck my juicy cherry ripe balls.
Pathetic.
Victims of conformity claiming to think for themselves is exactly what this is. You are being brainwashed, you are doing exactly what MJ is portraying you jacko's to be doing with Ghosts. You are labeling him whatever, you are belittling him because of his signature (ball grab / his HOOOOO thingy ). You aren't original, you didn't think it up, you didn't even decide on your own that his behavior isn't acceptable. You saw it on TV, you read it in a magazine, your friend who listens to basket case muzak'z said your gay if you listen to it. You have no idea what he has done for a single person, you have no idea what he has done for millions of people. You have no idea the bad he has done, its never been proven in any case. Sure you may put 1 and 1 together, but you have no facts, you have yet more TV, magazine, word of mouth slander. You cannot even think for yourselves and you dare mention the slightest negative comment to a man who was forced to devote his entire upbringing to something love it or not. You dare insult MJ when you yourself could never match his, or even any of his fans, in character, compassion, and values. You dare insult MJ's fans with this rubbish, for what? Self-righteous gratituity? You didn't even think up your insults on your own!
Posted by: Kid Titan on November 3, 2003 11:33 AM - linkFace it, Mike is the king of pop and always will be. Who cares what he looks like, I will always be a great fan of MJ. And I dont think you have a freakin' clue what you are talking about and I am with Kid Titan, you are pathetic!
